Reviewing Your Plan - Week by Week

Written by Aidan Bocci

📅 Week by Week Report – Full-Year Promotional Plan Calendar

The Week by Week report provides a detailed, week-by-week calendar view of all promotional activity included in a supplier’s Joint Business Plan (JBP). This report allows suppliers and retailers to align on what promotions are planned, when they are scheduled, and how they are supported in-store.

This report is particularly useful for ensuring clarity, coordination, and execution readiness across 52 weeks of activity.

🧭 What Does the Week by Week Report Show?

This calendar view is structured with:

  • Weeks across the top (e.g. Week 06, Week 07...), covering all 52 weeks of the JBP year.

  • Retailer subcategories on the left, such as “Refrigerated Teas” or “Orange Juice - Refrigerated,” so promotions can be easily understood by product category.

Each promotion block within the calendar contains:

  • Products: The specific items included in the promotion (e.g. “Products 1”).

  • Offer: The consumer-facing deal (e.g. “2 for $5”, or a price reduction like “$2.09 to $1.50”).

  • Promotion Mechanic: This describes the type of price activity used:

    • TPR = Temporary Price Reduction

    • Buy X for $Y = Multi-buy deals

    • Others may include % discount, BOGO (Buy One Get One), etc.

  • % Discount or Value Uplift: Shown as “+45%” or “TPR +70%”, indicating promotional intensity.

  • Merchandising Support Tags: These are abbreviations that describe what kind of in-store visibility is planned:

    • EC-FULL = Full end-cap

    • ABI-I = Aisle blade or in-line display

    • Other codes may appear depending on your plan.

Each promotion is shown in the week(s) it is scheduled to run. Promotions may overlap across weeks and categories, and the calendar helps you quickly identify congestion or gaps.

✅ How to Use It

  • Check coverage: Ensure all key subcategories have relevant and timely promotional activity.

  • Validate spacing: Avoid overlap or over-promotion in consecutive weeks.

  • Confirm support: Verify that appropriate in-store support is planned for priority promotions.

  • Share with retailers: Use this view to present your full-year promotional roadmap clearly and professionally.

You can also group by other dimensions using the dropdown menu at the top-left to explore your calendar from different angles.
