Building your plan - 8.10 What should I think about before building this promotion?

Written by Stephen Wood

A Feature Without Incentive is a visibility-led mechanic, where the impact comes from increased exposure, not price or reward.

Key considerations:

  • Quality of visibility – how prominent and noticeable is the feature?

  • Expected volume uplift – driven by awareness and shopper attention

  • Coverage – how widely the feature is deployed across stores or channels

  • Merchandising investment – primary cost driver of the activity

  • Baseline demand – stronger products respond better to visibility

  • Cannibalisation within your range – increased focus on one SKU may reduce sales of others

A strong feature drives incremental demand through awareness, while managing the net effect across your product range.
